Smoke pouring out
Yesterday I have a nice afternoon with my middle grandson. We went to the mall with job applications to turn it. We grabbed a pretzel and lemonade and moved on to the rest of my errands. It was a warm day and I ran the AC to keep us cool. Boy do I enjoy my AC.
I came home to return calls , take a walk and eat my dinner. Then I was off to my monthly book club. I arrived at the same time as two other ladies to discover that the hostess was not home. Her husband called her at from a party around the corner and she was gracious enough to come home for us. We had a good time, as usual.
I stopped at the store on the way home for a few things and then drove home. As I entered the garage, smoke began to pour out of my hood, really steam it seemed. UGH! As you know by now, I am not mechanical.
I decided to just close the door of the garage and forget about it for the night.
Today I had to tell Jon and I could see it spoiled his relaxing morning. We just surveyed the situation and if we are correct, it is simply a hose. Jon hopes to replace it and I will be back in business Monday. As an optimist, I do not want to think about the other options just now. I know one thing, I can’t drive it with smoke pouring out or the engine will burn up.
As I was washing up after the diagnosis, I thought again about the smoke pouring out of the engine. That took my mind to a cliché:
“Smoke pouring out of her ears.”
The Spirit referred me to Genesis 4 where Cain had smoke pouring out of his ears. Well, not literally but mentally. God came to him and surveyed the situation and the diagnosis was that sin was crouching at the door of his heart and it was going to overpower him if he did not deal with his anger.
Unfortunately ,Cain did not deal with the situation but proceeded to’ drive his life ‘with anger pouring out and sure enough, disaster stuck- he killed his brother.
So if you see smoke, act ASAP.
